I've read a few books this month but to be honest only one stood out - The First Last Kiss by Ali Harris.
Now, I really hope you're not sneering at the fact that this is a chick lit book. Please put you're book snobbery away for a moment and hear me out.
You know those books that you just don't want to end? So you save the last chapter right until the last minute? Well, this is one of those books.
Yes. On the surface this is a chick lit book but there is a lot more to it than a flowery romance and a predictable happy ending.
The First Last Kiss features Ryan and Molly and follows their relationship from their first kiss - to their last.
The book starts in present day with Molly packing up the house she shared with Ryan who has left and it flicks backwards and forwards from when they first met back to the present day as you see how their relationship unfolds….
I am reluctant to say much more as I really don't want to give anything away - but I can tell you haven't cried this much at a book since reading JoJo Moyes, Me Before You and Davis Nicholls, One Day. And I am talking about public crying on the tube - the worst kind! But it also really made me smile too…
All I can say is read this and see for yourself. You won't regret it, promise.
Love your book reviews! Definitely going to get myself a copy of this.. Also love the fact I've found a fellow public crier. I highly recommend The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I cried so much that when I tried explaining to my Mam how good it was, I cried again. A really great read.. For indoors ONLY!
